You Can Get Whiter Teeth At Home!

It used to be that only the rich and famous could afford a bright white smile. By some mysterious means they would appear in public with a mouth full of teeth much more bright and white than they had been before. They were gorgeous. Everyone else just looked on at their gleaming teeth and wished that they could lose the yellow in their own.

Back then, those actors and singers would have treatments performed by their dentists at great cost to give them that sparkling smile. They would spend hours in the dentist’s office with their gums retracted while the dentist spread their teeth with the magic potion. This was effective, and many people still use this method, which has become less expensive, as it has become more popular. However, this is not the only option available, and is no longer even the most popular.

These days anyone can get whiter teeth at home! Similar treatments to those given by dentists in their offices can be performed at home by yourself. This is accomplished with a tooth whitening kit.

There are a few different types of tooth whitening kit. Some are professional kits that give you a mold to press your teeth into. Then a tray is made to fit your teeth. You apply a whitening gel to that tray and cover your teeth with it for a certain period of time and with a given frequency. This usually produces effective results over the course of a few weeks or months.

Another way to get whiter teeth at home is to opt for tooth whitening strips. These strips are available at the grocery or drug store and are made by well known dental companies, for example those that produce toothpastes and mouthwashes.

Whitening strips are a thin film of plastic that is covered in a clear whitening gel. They are peeled off of a plastic strip and then pressed to your teeth. You keep these on for a half an hour at a time, and then remove them and throw them away. This is done twice a day for one or two weeks, depending on the level of whitening that is desired. An hour a day may sound like a lot, but they are easy to apply and can be worn while you shower, clean or take care of your email. They really don’t have to interfere with your schedule at all.

Some less effective ways to “whiten” your teeth are by using tooth whitening toothpastes and other products. These may be effective at preventing stains, but are certainly not very effective at actually whitening your teeth. For that, a tooth whitening kit is needed. But as those kits are readily available and easy to use, anyone can get whiter teeth at home!
